Install dependencies

sudo dpkg -i libpng12-0_1.2.54-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb
sudo apt install libcanberra-gtk-module libcanberra-gtk3-moduleCode language: JavaScript (javascript)

Untar the files in /usr/local/stata15. Install Stata and add your license information.

cd /usr/local/
sudo mkdir stata15
cd stata15
sudo cp /Downloads/Stata15Linux64.tar.gz .
sudo tar -xvf Stata15Linux64.tar.gz 
sudo ./install
./stinit 

Add the directory to path

nano /home/user/.bashrc

# ADD THE LINE
export PATH="/usr/local/stata15:$PATH"Code language: PHP (php)

Log out and re-login to initialize the path

echo $PATHCode language: PHP (php)

Start Stata
